Shawnie Grant is a global strategist who started her professional career within the fashion industry in 2009 when she founded a 501 (c) (3) charity organization Tailored Hearts, which reconstructed gently worn garments, and donated them to teenage girls in need living in Houston, Texas (2009-2018). She has 10 years of experience in fashion design, product manufacturing, international trade, negotiating in foreign currencies, as well as experience in research and development on a global level through her parent company Tailored Boutique INC (founded in 2012). Her professional experience extends to the media world, where she co-hosted fashion segments to promote Tailored Boutique and give viewers fashion tips during morning show Great Day Houston aired on local news channel in Houston, KHOU 11-a CBS-affiliated television station.

 

She decided to expand her experience in product manufacturing beyond apparel, dissolved Tailored Boutique, and founded Explore Global Manufacturing (EGM). Grant's second company Beysa Safety Solutions INC, is a personal protective equipment company, which currently mass produces products in Asia and sells to the federal government in America. Grant lived in China for 3 years where she developed her curriculum Fashion Beyond Borders:Exploring The Global Fashion Industry, which was taught at New York University Shanghai, China She also taught the curriculum in Morocco, North Africa where she lived for 4 months. Grant's more recent work & study abroad project was held in North and South Vietnam for one month during 2023, exploring furniture, coffee, and electronic manufacturers. 
 

Fashion Beyond Borders: Exploring The Global Fashion Industry course book was developed to provide her students an easy carry guide book for them to reference to after completing the career training course. After receiving numerous of questions from people inquiring about how-to manufacture products for their brand in China, Grant made the book available to the public. Fashion Beyond Borders:Exploring The Global Fashion Industry course book is currently sold online at Walmart, Target, Barnes&Nobles, Amazon, and through various book distributors. Hard copies of Edition 1 are also sold at Barnes & Nobles college bookstore at Texas Southern University.
 

Grant has a B.S in Biology from Texas Southern University and she also studied in the MBA program at the University of Houston concentrating in international business.
